On-Farm Water Storage And Irrigation

On-farm Water Storage

Constructing dams for freshwater storage is a complicated process and one where you need the right people working for you. Our WSP Opus team understand this is a significant investment.

We endeavor to take our rural clients on a journey where they are empowered with the knowledge to make informed decisions for their businesses.

Given the complexity of water storage projects, WSP Opus price each phase of the project independently to give you the best value for money.

The WSP Opus on Farm storage process is split into three distinct phases:

  1. Feasibility Investigations
    – Simply we investigate the following questions:

    1. Is there enough reliable water?
    2. What are the planning rules and are these rules acceptable for the construction of water storage and/or harvesting systems?
    3. Is there suitable material to construct a dam wall and how much water is it possible to hold?

  1. Consenting and Design –
Completing the resource consents and assessment of environmental effects on your behalf, helps to ensure you are able to collect water and fill your proposed dam. This activates the actual dam design and classification, all of which is required for your building consent application.
  2. Construction –
Building the dam!  And sign off upon completion.
